The exhibition "Vienna School of Fantastic Realism" in the Schütz Museum in Engelhartszell features 52 works from the Infeld Collection.

The beginning of the Infeld Collection, which today is one of the largest private collections in Austria, was the Vienna School of Fantastic Realism (Rudolf Hausner, Anton Lehmden, Ernst Fuchs, Wolfgang Hutter, Arik Brauer). After an exhibition in 1965, Peter Infeld (1942-2009) decided to get to know the painters personally and to collect their works: “I liked the precisely style of painting, the return to old master techniques, and the preoccupation with psychoanalysis.”

Key works by Rudolf Hausner, Ernst Fuchs, Anton Lehmden, Arik Brauer and Wolfgang Hutter can be seen in the Schütz Museum. Works by Fritz Janschka, Peter Klitsch, Greta Freist and other artists of the "second and third generation" span an arc from the Viennese Fantastic Realism to Benedetto Fellin, whose works features the second part of the exhibition.
