Passion for Art

Infeld Cultural Center Dobrinj
02. July 2016 to 30. September 2016

In the year 2016, the Infeld Culture Center in Dobrinj celebrated its 15th anniversary by presenting selected masterworks of the Vienna fantasists (Ernst Fuchs, Anton Lehmden, Albert Paris Gütersloh, Wolfgang Hutter, Rudolf Hausner, Arik Brauer), Croatian naive painters (Ilija Bosilj, Joze Tisnikar), Pop Art (Andy Warhol, Allen Jones, Keath Haring), Outsider Art representatives (Oswald Tschirtner, August Walla).
Paintings by Antun Kirincic, on loan from the family of the artist, will complement the exhibition of masterpieces from the Infeld Collection.
The beautiful mansion called "Dobrinjer Lady" rises on the main square of the small picturesque town of Dobrinj on the Croatian island of Krk. At the beginning of the 20th century, this house belonging to the mariner Franjo Vuskovic was one of the most popular attractions. Afterwards, the academic painter Antun Kirincic (1912-1981) worked and lived here.
The successful Viennese entrepreneur and art collector Peter Infeld (1942-2009) had the house authentically restored and expanded it in the 90s of the 20th century and in 2000 the Infeld Cultural Center opened its doors in Dobrinj. Since then the industrialist family Infeld, collecting art for more than fifty years, holds exhibitions every year, showcasing works from their extensive collection.
