Selected works of art from the Infeld Collection were first shown in the State Gallery of the Burgenland in Eisenstadt in 1998. After more than 30 years of collecting by the Vienna industrialist family, this exhibition was to prove primarily one thing: the immensity of what can be achieved with at that time relatively modest means, the courage to take risks in all respects, and the patience of our fellow human beings. On exhibition were works by the Viennese fantasists, classic modernists, and American pop art, Austrian Classicism, the group "Realities" and the group around Gallery Nächst St. Stephan.

  • Surrealists: Enrico Baj, Hans Bellmer, Giorgio De Chirico, Dado, Paul Delvaux, Leonor Fini, Rene Magritte, Richard Oelze, Max Walter Svanberg, Paul Wunderlich;
  • Classical modernism and pop art: Sandro Chia, Max Ernst, Alberto Giacometti, Gerta Overbeck-Schenk, Pablo Picasso, Jim Dine, Allen Jones, Francis Picabia, Mel Ramos, Andy Warhol;
